Rome, Italy

DAY 12 FLORENCE TO ROME
All roads lead to Rome where our included walking sightseeing tour was the perfect introduction to the Eternal City. This evening, we did as the Romans do and stroll past the Trevi Fountain, the amazing Pantheon, and Piazza Navona.

DAY 13 ROME

We had a whole free day to explore this historic city. I started by sitting in a café with a café latte and planned out my day. I went to the Sistine Chapel, the Colosseum and saw the Spanish Steps. My favourite thing to do was just walking the Via del Corso and shopping for Italian fashion. Of course along the way I had lots of panini and gelato.

At the end of the day, we had a fantastic dinner at a very cozy restaurant near the Colosseum. The view of the Colosseum at sunset and then lit up when it got darker was like something out a movie. The food was so delicious, there were so many courses and as usual lot of red wine. Then we hopped on our coach back to the hotel, for a final farewell party.

Our trip to Rome would not have been complete without a toga party. Our Contiki staff had showed us such a great time over the past 2 weeks and we really wanted to show our spirit and gratitude. So what better way than by surprising them by all of us wearing togas? I’m sure the hotel staff wasn’t too impressed though.

DAY 14 DEPART ROME

We said Arrivederci as we made our way to Rome airport and the journey home.
